45 Minute ASS, ARMS, ABS Workout
This is the first in our Series of YouTube Workout Reviews. My Wife and I love using YouTube workouts to get fit for free at home, in this series we will be sharing with you some of our favorite YouTube Workouts/Channels.
This workout, titled “45 Minute ASS, ARMS, ABS Workout: Butt Lifting, Thigh Slimming, Arm Toning, Ab Workout” by Mike Donavanik is a BRUTAL workout in the best way possible.
It’s divided up into 3 sections (plus warm up and cool down):
1. 10 minute leg session
2. 10 minute upper body session
3. 10 minute abs session
If you ever needed proof that you do not need heavy weight to get a good leg workout in, this workout is it. This is 10 minutes of 100% bodyweight exercises that will put your legs through hell. I could barely make it through this 10 minutes going full force. Even Mike while shooting the workout had to stop a few times, which to be honest made me feel a lot better about how much this was kicking my ass.
I’ve done this full workout many times, but on leg day workouts sometimes I just repeat this segment 2–3 times to turn it into a full BRUTAL bodyweight leg workout.
Upper body session
I was so happy when I got to the Arms portion of this workout because my legs were able to get a break. This happiness was very quickly replaced with more agony as the upper body portion might be even more brutal. By far the most difficult thing about this workout is the “Dumbbell cross body jabs”. This is basically 60 seconds of me grunting and yelling while my arms feel like they are going to fall off. Below is a picture of me doing this in all it’s agony.
LOL that face tells you all you need to know about how tough this arms session was. This is a fantastic arm workout that will make you reevaluate how long 60 seconds really is.
By the time I made it to the abs portion, I was drenched in sweat and had cursed at Mike through my laptop about 4–5 (hundred) times. So legs are jelly, arms are about to fall off, the abs are really the only part of my body that had not been completely destroyed. This abs workout is also pretty intense, and really faced paced but compared to the 30+ minutes of HELL I just went through, it seemed like sweet relief.
All in all this is a really awesome workout that Mike has put together, but I would caution it is for ADVANCED fitness levels, no beginners on this one!
