Great article, I agree I was also sad reading your bosses response. Even sadder is that he is hardly an outlier, many people would feel similarly.

If I had $5 Milion, I’d clear my mortgage and the mortgage on the house we own that my mother lives in. I’d use the other $4.5 million and spread it through Index Funds, Real Estate and Bonds. Then I’d Retire from my day job and make writing my full-time occupation.
