Not sure how to respond to the comment that no one working wouldn’t be bad because the economy “isn’t a thing”.

I don’t necessarily agree the government has no role to play in the economy. I think you may have over simplified the cause of the 1920–1921 recession. Monetary policy played a part, but it was not the only factor. The flood of soldiers coming back from the war and other labor issues played a role as well.

And one could argue that the government played somewhat of a role In the recovery by lowering taxes to help the recovery (which Follows the Keynes theory).

But I’d also agree that sometimes the best thing the government can do is, nothing.
