To the first question, unless the high-income individual is so pressed for time that they would have to actually reduce their work hours in order to cook, it still makes all the sense in the world for them to cook their own food. A lot of people get caught by “lifestyle inflation”. As they make more money, they spend more money. I wrote about this and why some high-income individuals never build wealth here.

I also agree there are non-financial benefits to home cooked meals with the family. When you add it all up, it makes all the sense in the world to cook at home.
