I think you're missing the point of the article, Jim. The “Myth” of passive income is from the many videos and articles online that claim people can easily create “passive income”. When you click on said videos/articles people are given a list of things that I mention in this article (selling courses, affiliate marketing etc..)

The point of the article is that these are not passive income sources. They require lots of active work. It might sound obvious to the point of silly to point that out. But, millions of people are watching these videos and reading these articles where they are being told that creating income is simple and requires little to no work.

Since people are buying into this myth of easy, carefree money. I wanted to point out that no these are not “passive income” sources. They are jobs. So, if you’re going to pursue them you should do so with your eyes wide open.

Then I explain the only real source of “passive income” is investment income. But even that requires active income to be able to invest.

Hence, the idea that you can easily sit back and start collecting “passive income” is a myth.

It may be obvious to you and me that is not how the world works, many people are believing that it is that simple. So, yes I do believe I am helping people by pushing back against the narrative of “easy money”.

Does that make more sense?
