In other areas where a similar tax (referred to as a Tobin Tax) there has been a slightly negative impact on investment. It may largely be a fee that very few even notice… many investor pay upwards of 2% per year in mutual fund fees regardless of whether they make or lose money. In comparison a 0.1% tax on disposition is rather modest.
