As you point out, what we have is not a pure capitalist system. I think part of the problem is that politicians and media coverage presents today’s system as if it is.

People on the far left saying capitalism doesn’t work and on the far right saying it needs to be defended. No one really asking the question “do we currently have a capitalist system?”

I think the young people voting in this poll, are really saying “I hate the current system and want to try the opposite of what we have today”. Since they “think” we have capitalism today they feel they would like the opposite (socialism).

Tough to see a great outcome, when everyone is basing their arguments on a false assumption of where we are today.
